Teacher Link-up Details

Me + Time Management = Non Existent

That equation about sums up (haha, no pun intended) my life right now.  I cannot believe I go back to work TOMORROW!  (The first week is without kiddos, so it's not officially "the first day of school," but exciting all the same.)  I am mentally and emotionally ready to go back, but I am a mess in terms of actually being physically ready.... Here's praying for a VERY productive week next week (and a magic fairy to come take care of all the things at my house I haven't done all summer).

Anyway, with that in mind, please forgive me for not posting my "Letter to New Teachers" on Friday.  I'm a mess, that's all I can say.  Stupidly, I decided this week would be an excellent time to do a series of posts on school related subjects - which, actually take a lot of time and effort to put together - when I've got my hands FULL actually trying to live back to school.  Do you get my gist?

So...

I am going to do a bunch of teaching/classroom organization/decorating/management/etc. posts; but instead of promising one every day next week, they will be spaced out over the next several weeks.

BUT, even better, the Teacher Link-up will go on as planned on THURSDAY, August 16th!!!  Hearing from lots of wonderful teachers is way better than just listening to me blab about myself anyway. :)
Here's what you need to know to participate (and please, please do!):

- Also, and this is important, I know teachers are all about sharing ideas & creative license.  So, your idea doesn't have to be uniquely yours; BUT, please try to give credit to the source where you got your idea to the best of your ability.  We gotta be fair.

- You don't have to be a teacher to link-up... In fact, I'd LOVE to hear from some parents or students with great ideas that they have seen in their/ their child's classroom.

- And, if you don't have any specifics ideas you want to share; but, you know some great websites and resources for teachers, please comment with links to those!

Pinterest has nothing on us!  Haha... I'm excited!

  1. Hi, Elizabeth! I just found your blog this weekend, and I think it's going to be a lifesaver! This will be my 2nd year teaching high school English, and your organizational ideas (if I can actually implement them) are pure gold. Thanks so much. I hope to have something to post for the link up.

  4. I'm a secondary teacher and can't wait for the link-up! I just did a post on my classroom decor for this year, I'll try to do another before the 16th but I'm back at school and WAY behind too!

  5. I gave away so much material when I retired from teaching. The funniest part was getting rid of overhead transparencies. Elmo is what I have discovered as I substitute teach. The first day I encountered Elmo, I thought the teacher's notes were just a nickname. I love all the new technology and even went on ebay to buy an LCD projector that I use when I talk at Toastmasters or when I teach an occasional class for DUI offenders. Then comes the smartboard. E, do you have a smart board in your classroom?

Just think, when you retire you do not have to throw away overhead projector transparencies as I did! Have a great year! Starting to read your blog.

    Hugs,
    Carol

I've been having A LOT of trouble with spam comments recently, so I'm switching back to the annoying word verification thing for a little bit. I KNOW it is a pain, but please still leave your comment... I really look forward to reading them, and do my best to respond to every one!! You all are the best!!
